ill take the 89+ tail lights
i dont know how much they go for but im sure you'll ask for a reasonable price
do u have pics of both the mint and not so mint tails?
James Earl
01-19-2006, 04:47 PM
Jurkey,
Sorry no pictures but the mint set shine and look close to factory new. The not so mint set, the tails are good, but the center bit has a big chunk missing of the red. it's about 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick. This set is good for someone who needs the ends replaced.
I looked through the Supra sites and they go for $125 ~ $140 US + shipping & duty tax's. Are you good with $100? I bought them way back when they went for double that on ebay. The good news is I have noticed a real drop in part costs for the MK3's in the last year. Front strut bars started at $245 US and were non-adjustable. Go figure they are $50 now. :sob:
Are you going to be around for coffee Friday night I can bring them to the meet and you can look at em.

you still have the antenae compartment cover? Is it maroon by any chance? If so, I need!!
grandmaster
01-25-2006, 12:12 PM
and I'll trade you approximatly 3 cubic feet of freed space in your garage for those valve covers ...or some nice metallic blue ones
James Earl
01-25-2006, 03:21 PM
I have no maroon stuff at all, sorry.
Are your valve covers just painted? I might work a deal with you on em, sort of a core exchange program for the polishing.
grandmaster
01-25-2006, 04:19 PM
yep..just painted...
what sort of polishing equipment do you have? All I got is a dremmel and sandpaper. It takes a bloody long time for me, so that is why I havn't done the covers (and I havn't perfected my skills yet).
What does the core exchange program entail?
James Earl
01-25-2006, 04:35 PM
Yeah I did mine that way....take em off for the winter and sand them while watching movies
I was going to buy a bench grinder with the stuff needed to polish them up a little faster this year. I was also looking to do a few 3000 pipes for the club while gettinga little coffee money out of it. Sort of a "good member" offering for the club.
I emailed you details on your hotmail acct. call me 265-6077

This is how you polish something:
http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274253
Also mentions equipment to buy.
And I'm pretty sure there is no way to do a really good job without taking a long time.
Cheers,

Thanks....So I was wondering how much you would pay for some of the parts polished up like that with a core exchange....I have all these extra parts but figured I would clean em up a bit first. If I buy a bench & the tools then it will be much faster than the valve covers I just swapped.
Just if I'm going to cook up a week of hours on something...I wanna know what it is worth.

Those blue valve covers, do they have any bolts or screws left on them? The previous owner was known to leave them in so that they wouldn't be lost. Let me know. Thanks
I also need the following items:
- the bit of hose that runs from the throttle body to the rear ict pipe
- screw to hold ict pipe
- one exhaust manifold bolt
- bit of hose that runs to charcoal cannister
let me know if you have any of these things...Thanks
James Earl

Grandmaster,
I will have to look for the bolts for you. I did not see any but I was not looking for them. As for the rest:
- the bit of hose that runs from the throttle body to the rear ict pipe
You mean the 3000 pipe to the IC piping? I do not have that.
- screw to hold ict pipe
I have that somewhere....maybe they are blue?
- one exhaust manifold bolt
Yes. U need nut or the stud or both?
- bit of hose that runs to charcoal cannister
Vac line? Yes.
Post a picture if you think it will help. Tonight is the only night i'll be home for awhile if you want to come by and pick up the stuff, call me.
