-need to sell because i bought a new car....
-black, 5spd, right hand drive, power everything, hard top,86xxx kms
-i bought this car only 3 months ago but only driven it for 5000 kms before i stuffed in the garage near the end of november.
- i had chosen and got professionally installed parts on my car. some include autometer boost/air fuel gauges, blitz dd bov,a pioneer/alpine very nice sounding system and extremely rare rims were put onto this car. (koenig-special). they are 17 by 8 and 17 by 9 in the rears with z rated brigestone grid tires.
- my reason for selling this car was it wasnt practical enough for me to drive all year around. and i would hate to even drive it onm the snow as i am trying my best to keep it the best shape possible.
- i am looking to get $9000 obo for this car but i am pretty stuck with the price. if it doesnt sell then ill just keep it.
SOLD!

Sucks that you're getting rid of it man.
What's the new ride (better not be described as 'sporty' :dissapoi: )?

yeah i took it back on the roadtoday and gonna miss selling it but its getting old and i wanna look for the future. 2 of my friends have type rs they want to sell to me and with the price they are askingfor its a extremlely good deal (11500 and the other is 13000). but im kinda going towards the new civic si. i seriously dont know what i wanna do i keep gettin mixed thoughts of keeping the supra haha

You know what? I don't like most hondas (mostly due to their drivers, but that is another issue), but I looked at the new civic si, and it is pretty cool. I would still keep the supra between the two though. Especially yours, and then just pick up another car for the winter. That's what most of us have done.
I wish you well no matter what you do, but that's my 2psi. My plan gives you something to look forward to every summer ;)
Cheers,
Tim

the good thing about the civic si is theres only a limited amount being sold at the dealerships. mine comes in during february. i do like the supra though maybe ill keep it as a winter car if no one buys it haha

ahhhhh! Winter car! That’s funny.
You will sell it, Calgary is busting for Supra's at the right price. Although your car is worth 9,000 you may not get it soon. Mine was worth allot more than 6 thousand and at 8 grand it would still have been a giveaway but the market will only pay what they think it is worth.
I will keep my eyes open for you.

i am pretty negotiable with the price. i know how the market is right now for supra and i can understand people not wanting to pay so much for an old car but for the people that know their old sport cars they should know the true value of these cars. i think your car is a good price earl.. i dont expect to get more than 8 for mine but its worth a try thats why i posted 9000 obo haha

For somebody who claims not to be interested in getting rid of the car, you're sure dropping the price fast. You should slow down, makes you look desperate to sell. If I was an interested buyer, I'd wait a month so the price would be around 7K.
Just a thought Ken.

Any mechanical problems?
Any rust, scratches, dents, blemishes in the exterior?
Any interior rips, etc.?
Any major repairs in the last year?
How reliable is it?
Got any pics? Send to Fox.Corp@gmail.com
If possible for you, depending on the condition of it, I'll come grab it this weekend.

yeah im kinda rushing to sell now since ill need garage space for my new car and also with all the supras for sale its gonna be competition for me...
TREY:
-no mechanical problems whats so ever
-no rust at all, theres a scratch on the passenger side bumper and a minro scratch on the rear bumper.. someone brushed up against my car while it was parked. there are no dents on the car and pretty much the exterior is in excellent condtion and the paint is smooth and still shines
-the interior is in PERfect condition. no rips , no cracks , however theres some dark stains on passenger side carpet but it was bought like that.
-since i owned the car there was never any repairs needed. the car is still failr brand new.
-the car to me is really reliable, the engine runs strong with no problems, the car is fairly good on gas for a supra and the car pretty much is solid and feels very safe to drive.

Sean,
I saw on the intro thread that you were looking at this car.
It's a gorgeous car and I'd buy it if I had the spare change. I recommend picking it up, and the car is in pretty much perfect condition.
The stains will come out with some carpet shampoo. I use Simoniz carpet cleaner and it cleaned my carpet to brand new.
Just wanted to let you know form a third party that this is an absolutely solid car and a great platform to build a monster out of.
Cheers,
Tim

It would take $1500-2000 more to turn this into a 1JZ. Still a great car!
Tim
How bout putting a 7M into it?
1jzsupra
01-14-2006, 05:40 PM
7m even cheaper to put in.. stronger engine in a mint body is... goood
Deep_Blue
01-15-2006, 07:43 PM
I'd buy it just so you have something, and the car is about as mint as they come! It still put a very respectable dyno down (despite problems getting an accurate reading) . The engine isn't phenomenal, but it is not much less power than a stock 7mgte. I believe it's rated at 210bhp, and this way you can do there rest as the money comes up. Consider it Sean, I don't think you'll regret it!
Cheers,
Tim
Yeah, was weighing out the options, and turns out you and me think the same.
And I'm sure if I get this, once I'm ready to do the swap, you guys will be able to point me in the right direction of an experience auto shop?

silverstone motorsports is where its at. they have huge knowledge about mk3 supras!! 1jz into a already rhd car is easy access

Broken link Ken!
Sean, there's a very good chance that we could swap the engine ourselves without you spending piles at a shop, but I'd have to do a little research first.

We have done a few swaps in the club. It would take a Saturday to pull & drop in a motor for ya. Then you would have the task of reconnecting everything yourself. Thats the best part....the first time you turn it over and it does not explode or clank to a stop. LOL
After I put my motor in it took me about 10 ~ 12 hours of pissing around a couple of hours each night to get it running. Keep in mind I had never swapped a motor before and I did it myself. With a TSRM book & a cell phone. I turned over the motor an hour before our first club meet. A mighty fine accomplishment if I may say.
In most of our minds the deal with the car is to work on it and enjoy the results. Try not to spend too much $$ on outside work, it just cheapens the relationship.
The only reasons I'd consider paying a shop to do it are:
1. I don't have all the right tools.
2. I'm in Calgary, and don't have time off to go to Edmonton to have you guys rip the car apart, and then not be able to get home to work when it doesn't work.. Not that I'm doubting your abilities :P
3. I'm working Monday - Saturday right now.. Don't even have a weekend to work on it =[
If I can get past those obstacles, and find a decent walk through, I'd definetly consider doing it myself, and dropping $400 on an engine hoist.
Oh, the other problem is I'm SEVERELY Red/Green and Blue/Yellow colorblind. I can't do electrical... You should see my stereo hookup, I was told there was liek 50 colors for my Subs/speakers/amp/deck/powerline in my Cavalier.
By the way.. That Merc is sexy

Humm these seem like small obstacles for a supra guy, but if you insist we will let you pay for the work down there.
Guess I should look at the profiles a bit huh?
