I was looking at the poll results and noticed that people are upgrading 2 things.
1. The flux capacitor
2. Shocks/struts & springs.

As for the Flux Capacitor, no can do. As soon as they realised that having one of those would allow us to time travel, the one member of the Edmonton Delorian Club jumped back into time and made sure there were non to be had.

As for struts & springs I would like to hear what you are thinking for your car.

Myself I have decided to go with the ST springs. They are one of the few linear spring sets available for the Mkiii.

So what is the difference between linear and progressive springs?

This is what I know about them in Url can understand terms.

Linear springs have the same spring rate for the duration of spring compression. It will push with the same 100% of total force if the spring is 10% compressed as well as 99% compressed.

Progressive springs have a increasing amount of force as the spring is compressed. It will apply 30% of total force at 30% of compression and 99% of total force at 99% compression.

Some say the progressive is the best set for your car as it will allow a mellow drive ride at regular speeds and provide more handling feel and support under race conditions.

The linear is more of a race spring for maximum control and feel at all times.

So that is what I know. Am I talking shit? U tell me. What are your thoughts on the parts you want on your car?

As for the three who plan on upgrading we should get together & see if we can get group pricing. Without a discount my ST springs will cost $280 + tax + $25 shipping if I want them in under 2 weeks. That price is from a shop that has not offered us a discount and I have not shopped around yet with the ones who will.

your right about how progressive and linear rates work, both can be resonable for a street driven car though, depending on your shocks, i am using st's because they are linear in the rear, they are stiff but i use kyb gr-2 in the rear as they are not a HP (high pressure) shock so they are still reasonable. For front shocks i used monroe sensetracs as they stiffen up automatically depending on the amount of compression applied to them.

For someone interested in track or road course racing and even drag racing you can buy adjustable shocks to stiffen accordingly.

Mopac had my springs for $230, sway bars for $297 and $257. for rear shocks it cost me $77 at I&M import.

i wanted to put down brakes, suspension, and motor upgrade. lol. flux capacitors only add weight and slow you down :)

Mopac was my price quote for MKiii ST springs. I have the sway bars & I have TEMS with Tokico Lumina 2's with less that 70,000Km on them. I just think the H&R's are too low in the front. Need ST's!

I voted twice. Once for the Flux Capacitor and the second was the turbo. Seeing as how the Flux capicitor is no longer being made I suppose I will need to settle for the turbo upgrade.

As for the KYB's. I picked mine up for $75.00 each from Autorolla. Earl, check with Hugh or Harv. It seems to me that they may be able to get in aftermarket stuff. Also check with Raymond at Silverstone. Raymond mentioned that he has good access to aftermarket parts and will give club members a discount on them.
