Hey everyone i'm new in calgary. Been here 3 weeks, i work in the oil exploration industry as a mechanic. I have an mk4 supra twin turbo auto, converting to manual over the winter with an R154, undecided clutch, and many more mods to come. Im making almost 3x my salary here than i was in quebec doing less work. I love alberta! Looking to meet people who share my passion as i know very few people here!

Welcome aboard. What area of the city are you in?

Hope the winter is kinder to you here.

The winter here is about the same, minus all the humidity and salt that destroys our old cars. Rhd isnt a problem in quebec if the car was registered before 2009 or something... But nobody wants to insure them. I live in south west calgary

no, we have the salt.. I wont drive my MKIII in this city once snow lands.. and Crowfoot and Deerfoot are the worst roads in North America for rocks...

If you need an insurance agent in Calgary, my daughter is one (although I dont use her) and I have an excellent agent at Dyck Insurance who lined up my car insurance. Her name is Susan there and is very helpful and knowledgable.. PM me if you want more info.

btw... my insurance is with Intact and is for antique/collectible (max 5000 km/year) and costs me 7.00 per month for full insurance for the appraised value of the car (+1500.00 in parts on top)

That aside, welcome to Calgary!.. I am in SE Calgary near the Walmart.. hehe

Welcome aboard!

That's a nice looking MK4 you have there. Can't wait to start seeing them out on the roads after the rocks are gone!
