Hi everyone,

It pleases me to write this review about Toy Tech. My mission was simple, I wanted to have my RH side drive axle replaced.

After much deliberation and frustration I had given up on my RH drive Axle replacement. It all started off with flipping through they Yellow Pages seeing who was open and getting quotes on replacing the drivers side axle on a 1997 Toyota Avalon XLS. When I called Toy Tech I was supprised and immediately connected to Ted (the owner). I had told Ted about my delima and Ted had gone through some information about removing the axles with me and had quoted me an estimate of labour. He told me this was a ball park as he was not at the shop but was at home. He had the shop phone forwarded to his home sohe could still take calls and book appointments.

Upon bringing my car to Toy Tech at 8:00 am I was greeted by a friendly face and a nice and extremely clean shop. This shop was very impressive. It had 8 bays and 4 lifts. Ted had told me that because he had appointments booked for that day he would get the car in but it may not be ready till later that day and asked me if I could leave the car with him for most of the day. I had agreed as I was in no rush. He had arrainged for a shuttle to drop me off back at my place. I was greeted by a nice young fellow named Issak whom drove me home.

Not more than being home for more than 1 hr I had received a call from Ted telling me the car was in the air and it had been out on a test drive. He told me I had the wrong axle in the drivers side and a wrong axle for the passanger side. This may be attributing to the surges between shifts. I had then ordered some new axles for the car from Autorola. Hugh and Harv were excellent in getting the axles to the shop with in 2 hrs. When the boxes were opened Ted called to tell me they received the axles but they again were the wrong ones. Ted and myself were confused at this point. So he ordered new axles from his supplier. The axles came in and were the wrong ones. Ted ordered for a 1996 Avalon to see if there was a difference and when they came in, they were the right ones!

Ted was excellent at keeping on top of things and keeping me informed along the way. They were able to install the drivers side axle. When the car went for a test drive the surging problem had cleared up.

Not only did they fix the problem, but they set my radio stations to exactly what I had wanted with out telling them. They all needed to be reset from when I dissconnected the battery to do the timing belt.

Toy Tech exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased about the service I had received. Well done folks!

Sounds good!

I'll keep that in mind if there is anything that I can't do on my car and/or is too boring to waste my time on.

Hi Tim and Corey,

They are a great place. I was extremely impressed. I think Ted told me the shop rate was $70.00 per hour.

The shop was extremely clean. It was not what I was expecting.

well after working at a dealership and seeing some truly terribly service, its great to hear that there are still some excellent shops around willing to go the extra mile.

Fact is, the independents have to, otherwise they'd be out of the market. Everyone goes to the dealership as a standard practice b/c it's sort of indoctrinated into society. Which sucks, b/c a lot of dealerships = :( . Yay competition! Yay Toy Tech! :)

Cheers,

Tim
