Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any advice on removing one of the exhaust studs on the hot side of the CT26? I need to remove one of them to bolt on to the turbo. These are the threaded studs that connect the turbo to the turbo elbow. On my old CT26 they are seized in or stuck wth locktight. I have tried fluid film for a week now, and tried to remove them with Vice grips and this has proven fruitless.

Any suggestions?

could use a bolt instead of a stud.
lock two nuts together on the thread and use that to remove the stud, works pretty good.
there are stud installer/remover tools but there not very cheap i think.
if you need a hand i got nothing else to do today, the motor in the garage is as done as it can be, finished all the work on my car that needed doing today.

Supra Devil you are bang on.

If that does not work let me know, I've learned a few tricks through machining...

you can go buy the stud from toyota for 3 bucks and change, or go to canadian tire and pick up an M10x1.25 bolt... 30-40mm should do the trick.
