After going the cheap way because of low funds i decided to replace the headgasket. My attempt failed and the headset wouldn't seal properly because of a pitted block and missing guide pin (i shun the po lol).

So after lots of man hours and a pain in the ass i ordered myself a replacement engine from jdmsource.ca for a decent price now

Im now waiting to receive it hopefully ill have it after the family day weekend =)

When you get the replacement engine, do the headgasket anyway. Much easier to do now rather than put it in and find that the JDM engine has blown it, too. Also replace the front and rear main seals and timing belt at least.

Ill just be replacing the water pump and timing belt, as i already have bran new ones. Im planning on retorqing the head and drive it till i have enough money for a 2jz swap and body repairs =) i have been planning pretty big for this car, just don't quite know when it'll happen.

New engine is pretty much ready to put in, just need to finish taking off the exhaust manifold on my old engine. Then it will be time to swap parts over =) . I hope i can finish it this weekend but not likely. The only thing that's not going smoothly is the censors are all slightly different, Im not quite sure of what to do at the moment.

Make sure you clean out the IACV and throttle body before you install the engine. My car stalls out in cold weather if I don't hold the gas when I try and start the car. Also, EGR crud gets in the passage that goes from behind the throttle body to the IACV.

I don't know what Iacv is but there is no egr stuff its a jdm motor and i think that's why the intake is so clean compared.to my old 7m

Is that the gold looking puck on the throttle body?

Yeah you probably won't have that problem without an EGR on your JDM engine.
