Hi Everyone,

Well I dropped by Gateway Toyota today to find out some info on the new Yaris. While I was leaving the showroom, I had spotted a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo White Package in there. The car has Burgandy leather interior and Targa. The car is for sale. There is only 34,xxx KMS on it!! However the asking price is $18,000.00 I had spoken with Mike one of the sales people there about the Yaris and Supra. I had been introduced to the used car manager too. I introduced my self as being a member of the Edmonton Supra Club. He did not seem to interested in me nor our club and I actually felty I was wasting his time. (I get this everytime I visit Gateway Toyota)

Anyways the car is in the showroom, it is in very nice shape all original (according to them) It looks like the car has been detailed for hours and hours, but on thing that made me wonder is there was some sort of brown goo, or streaks on the inside of the drivers side fender.

You should stop by and take a peek at it. It is a beauty, but no where near worth $18,000.00

Don't forget to mention you're from the Edmonton Supra Club too! :bounce:

If enough guys go and look at the car and say that, they'll just be like WTF :dunno:

i'm suprised with the attitude you get when you go to a dealership. You would think that someone who is in love with thier 20 year old toyota would be treated better around the showroom, especially if they are trying to convince non-toyota owners that Toyotas are good investments.

I should check out the car, it's only 5 mins from my house. I should leave a supraclub card under the wiper or stealthily put a sticker on the window.

That would be hilarious Simon, but it might get the club in trouble... I agree with your comments about owners of 20 year old toyotas though, especially when Mike went there. He owns two toyotas and they don't treat him with respect! Unbelievable! Toyota dealerships try to pretend the supra never existed for the most part. They hate working on them from what I understand, and some of the parts guys won't do anything to help you if you own a supra. That's why I like Sun Toyota, they aren't like that.

Cheers,

Tim

Pull the old switcheroo...."And this supra here only has 34,000 kms on it......wait a minute that says 210,000....and where did all this rust come from....and why is the interior ripped to shreds. Hmmm somethign isn't right here."

Wow, now I want to see it!

We should have a meet where we all drive down there just to see it. Did you tell them you were from the Edmonton Supra Club? Switching your car with there's would be easier than you think, but you'll have to ask me in person to find out why.

LOL we should go as a group before the meet on sunday! but yeah, with you being an owner of 2 toyotas already Mike, you'd think they'd be treating you a little better. Best dealership experiences I've had have been with Kingsway, Joe the parts guy there is awesome. gotta love the 20% off club discount :D
