EC Automotive Machining.

I just had a flywheel lightened at EC. ($150 +gst for lighten, resurface and balance) They took 4 pounds off of my 22RE lump. The service was timely and professional. The owner, Mike, told me that club discounts were available, basically we'd pay mechanics pricing. I wheedled a deal out of him, but it would be great if we could set up a deal with him where our cards would get us a discount without haggling.

The shop is located on 118th ave and about 88th st. The staff and equipment came from Euro Auto on the south side, which closed down a few years ago. They're very good with import stuff, and have some very experienced people.

I'd love to see them added to our sponsor list, anyone else agree?

I agree, I could go and chat with them on Monday. I normally drop by our sponsors on a Mondy to say "Hi" an see what is new and keep the relationships strong with them and the club. The more sponsors and places that provide us a prefered rate for doing business with them the better it is for everyone. What are your thoughts?

Well, not quite yet. The price I got from them was hard-fought. That's why I'd like to see a deal with them, to make it easier on everyone....they know our discount, we know our discount, and we can plan projects accordingly.

Thanks to Mike N. for taking this one on, I'd be willing to set it up myself but was unable to answer many of Mike's (EC Mike) questions about the club. Anyway Mike N., the owner's name is Mike and the counterman is Hal. There's also Raymond working there who has ties to the Z-car club, our Mike probably already knows him.

OK, I have to go get the ice bag now, I'm getting a headache from trying to keep the Mikes straight....

I did not have a chance to pop by EC on Monday to chat with Mike. I will do so next week. Yes I do know Ray at EC. I do know him through the Edmotnon Z car club. If I had my head fully secured to my shoulders on Thursdays meet I would have chatted to him about it. ha ha ha. They are a good bunch of people there and very knowledgeable.

Alright everyone,

I had dropped buy to chat with the boys at EC Automotive and machine today. Mike was not in, but I has spoken for quite some time with Ray. I had learned alot about the shop and how they run it and what they do. I had an excellent tour of the shop. Mike is out of town for a week and will be back next Monday. I will try and stop buy to chat with them there. But the overall feel I got was that they were willing to give club members discounts. I will need to speak with Mike in greater detail about this later. I had also been provided with a bunch of business cards/stickers to hand out too. For the time being I will add EC Automotive to the Sponsor/Supported club unless things change.

Yes they can machine a head for you. There is only about one or two things that they can not do and I can not remember what they are.
