Any repair shops for turbos locally? (Calgary)

And here's the result of a bead from the weld on a SS manifold going through your turbo. It had less than 80KM on it at the time from brand new.

Sucktacular!

That is awesome! I destroyed a turbo that looked like that. :D

Where is this Alamo motorsports and how much do they charge for a turbo rebuild?

They are gonna call me back fairly soon here and I will let you all know the approximate cost they give me.

Looks like that manifold is costing you more than a genuine one.......

Where did you get your turbo? I bought mine from Precision Turbo, and they rebuilt it under warranty when I blew it.

I don't think that the turbocharger's warranty will (Or, for that matter should) cover something like a weld bead going through the turbine.

Unfortunately I would have to agree. I would also have to take responsibility for the damage myself since I spent a good 2 hours going over the mani to be sure it was 100%. I even used a borascope.

Although, some else has suggested that the damage could be caused by overspeed. Another suggested overheating but I would have to doubt this due to my running so incredibly rich. Pig rich actually.

Any thoughts on these possibilities?

I also should point out that I was not running a boost controller at the time and my wastegate was the only boost level permitted. I believe that to be around 8-12psi max. I don't believe it would be possible to achieve an overspin situation with such low boost mititation being imposed by the wastegate would it?

The overspinning shouldn't be a problem. I ran mine with a quarter sized hole in one of my couplers. That thing was spinning like a mad man, but it held up fine. Damn thing literally sounded like a semi.
