Hey i've got a 1988 Toyota Chaser. I'm planning on dropping a 7mgte along with the R154 into the car. I also want to beef up the 7m a little bit for some fun highway driving.
I've never done anything like this before so I'm just looking for some tips and opinions on how to make this project go smoothly.
Also I'm wondering if anyone can fill me in on what types of upgrades I should go for at reasonable prices.
I'm not looking to build an insane beast I'm mainly looking into building a fun car with decent power.
So if anyone has any tips or opinions that would be sweet.
Thanks.
Soda.

Didn't you already mention this in the other thread?
Well, the source that I cited for conversion info is still valid.
Upgrades:
If you go with a MAF-T Pro, you can forego buying that AFM, to offset some of the initial cost, and it will get things to where the engine can be tuned for more power. This also gives you more flexibility with intake/PCV/BOV options, which could be a good thing. Even if you're not looking for more power, having the MAF-T isn't a bad idea.
Larger injectors can go with the MAF-T Pro, (Or with a Lexus AFM, since you've got to buy one anyway.) You probably don't NEED these, if your power goals are moderate.
While the 7M-GTE is out of the car, it would be adviseable to replace the head gasket. Even if it's not blown already, the peace of mind is worthwhile.
Also, in the "You need one anyway" department, get a nicer intercooler. Stock ones can be had cheap, but it's not too much to get a decent aftermarket one.
I'd also look into oil coolers. With a remote filter mount would be nice. This is one of my "to do" projects.

Thanks for the info. yeah I just noticed your reply in my other thread and it was helpful. Figured i'd make a thread here too since it is the Do it Yourself Forum and the other was just an Introduction. I appreciate your input. it will help me out a lot. I do have a buddy who owns several supras and he will also be helping me out but it doesn't hurt to get some knowledge from a variety of people.

SupraSport MAF-T Pro install solution. (http://www.suprasport.com/Maft-Systems_c_245.html)
Eliminates the AFM, has a wideband controller, for better A/F ratio control, and it even handles boost control.

Nice. I was just at that site too checking it out hahahha. I will most likely get this MAF-T Pro if my budget allows me or if i find one for cheap.
I also did some reading on other forums about turbo upgrades and I'm looking for something that will bolt directly onto the 7mgte. I read some people were talking about the Sp61 turbo or something like that. Does anyone know if this turbo is a direct bolt on and if its a reliable turbo? Orrrr does anyone have any suggestions for other turbo upgrades? Man, research is intense when i have no idea what to look for.

Check out the BOSS turbos at SupraSport. Those will bolt directly onto the stock manifold, and are far superior to an upgraded CT26. There are a limited number of turbos that will bolt onto the factory manifold, and even fewer which will bolt onto the stock (or stock replacement) exhaust downpipe/turbo elbow.

That boss turbo looks nutts hahaha.
So far i figured i will upgrade the cams, the injectors, intercooler, new trubo, buy that lexus AFM and errr I dont know what else from there. Are all the supra sport stuff decent? Should i just buy everything i need from them or should i look else where for certain parts?

For on-line purchases, I generally check Driftmotion.com, Suprasport.com and Suprastore.com, then a few other places as well, depending on what it is.
