so I'm not working friday evening, for the first time in quite a while, so I thought I'd take advantage of the fact to get out to bud for a few baseline runs at street legals. anybody else planning on heading out there?

I will be there tonight if the track does not close. I hope to be no later than 7PM but expect to be a liitle earlier than that.

well it was quite a night, myself, glenn and marc showed up with our cars, and earl came with his friend with the audi S4 (which ran a best of 14.5 I believe) so we all started taking runs, I ran against glenn twice and beat him to the end of the quarter with a slower car because of a slower launch on his part(GO ON THE YELLOW GLENN!! lol) I personally had a best run of 17.01x, which I was happy enough with for a basically stock car. glenn was running arund 16.6 - 16.7 I beleive, until he blew his suicide coolant line :p which closed the track for cleanup for a while - coolant all down the track and return lane. so glenn was down after only 4 runs unfortunately, marc and I took some more runs after, and despite some fan issues, Marc got in some good runs, with a best of 15.2 - beating a spec V with quite a lot of work done to it
with the exception of glenn's hose problem, it was a good night, hope to get out there again before the end of the season (when Glenn has his turbo in :D can't wait to see that run)

my best was 16.671 at 83.57 mph. with a 2.523 60', i've had better 60' times before though, launching is my weak part of the 1/4, either bog or wheel hop, but now that i know my tires love a little burnout the grip is there to launch at much higher rpm.
daves r/t's were better by .5-.7 seconds consistently.

Hopeing for low 14's with the turbo, assuming i can launch worth a damn with that much extra power at the tap, lol.

yeah I surprised myself with my launches, with my mkIII I never launched well, didn't run that much though (got about 4 runs in the 1 time I took it to the track) always had massive wheel hop and didn't have great r/ts either, but somehow I managed to get some good r/ts that nigt (best were .003 and .024 :) ) and I don't really have enough power to have traction problems, even with 205 winter tires lol

go ahead, tell em about your red light too, lol.

good r/t's often mean the occasional red light, i don't have that worry, even if i lauch half a second sooner, lol.

man i suck at r/t's.......

haha I know, I was trying to get the best r/t possible, totally jumped it and got a -.033

redlighting is embarrasing

Ya it was a blast out there. My first time. 4 out of 6 passes at 15.2xx so pretty happy with that for now. A good baseline to work from. Bummer with Glenns blown hose tho. LIke Glenn my reaction times need alot of work LOL. First pass .9 last pass .5 so i got better. Was too busy on the line trying to build boost with the auto tranny to notice the lightsLOL. 60 ft times sucked at 2.5. The rest of the ride was a blast tho hehe. Looking forward to increasing the boost and getting into the 14's and then 13's down the road. Can't have those SRT-4's showing us up. I guess i'll have to put the car on a diet too LOL. Next time it will be naked inside haha.
