i was thinking to fix it myself...cut and weld but i want to know how many of you have this probleme or somethings like this.

these cars tend to rust from the inside out, so the best way to check is to pull the interior out of the back (thats the worst rust area) and check closely.

POR15 is good for "killing" rust, cut and weld is good except the gas tanks not to far away and after welding you need to paint and seal it very well or it will rust again very easily.

mk2 or mk3? i'm not sure what you have.

Dogstar has been looking into mk2 ones for a while and may have found someone with them, i would suggest that if he does that a group buy might be in order.

as far as that panel, I'm assuming there are none for sale because the car is unibody, this there is no "panel" per se, its part of the whole rear end.

ok so no body is making panel but i m sure there is someone who has rust on them rear quarter panel. mine his just begin to get some buble. so my option will be to sand it now to stop that and see if it s biger than what i can see....but i will try to find someone to made the panel because i don t have any toll and knowledge to play with metal. let me know guys if you know someone have repaired them rear panel. thanks. i will call toyota and couple paint shop.

the panel itself can be replaced,Unobody or not.
someone is probably able to make them, just a matter of finding out who.
if not you will have to go to a body shop and get them to do it custom.

I called Toyota and they asked 950 $ for a 87 rear quarter panel...than I spent couple hours to call around, paint shop to know where is the best place to find body panel for the supra and guys this car isn t a easy car to restore because there is no one carry some parts for the supra because of the nature of the car. I try napa, pro auto parts, custom, west..and so on. I think what I will do it s cut the piece, than go to the body shop and ask them to made me a pieces for the rear body panel.

Guy do you know someone who has fix rust on them car. Let me know. Thanks

Hi Toyosup,

Sorry to hear of the cancer problem on your car. Rust is a nasty problem. heck out www.car-part.com, Black gold in Nisku, www.hondatoy.com, also www.taprecycling.com You may need to order a rear clip, but sometimes you can find some real clean clips in the states.

Hope this helps,

Mike Nikolai

Thanks dude

I already look at that place and I will try to find parts here in Canada, like in Edmonton or Calgary if it s possible. I think I will cut and weld a new peace instead of buying brand new fenders. Because there is just 2 spot I will make sure they will never come back. I will do a full restoration of the body. I m taking some course to learn how to weld. I will paint all the inside parts myself and the outside I will prep everything and when it will be ready to do the basecoat and clear coat I will pay somebody to do it. My project will take longer because of my career but I will enjoy it.

I will still continue to search for someone who has rust on them car and fix it to get more information. So guys keep your ears open and let me know when you know someone who has repaired rust on them car.
