Heya,

I was just digging around today looking for good intercooler replacements and thought it would be great to reach out to the local community to see what everyone recommends? From what I've come up with the Spearco Replica IC is the best bang for the buck, not too sure on the piping though.

Any thoughts?

I assume for a MKIII 7M?

Yeah you bet, sorry I didn't specify that. Stock 7m, the car listed in my signature.

Driftmotion.com has a nice Spearco replica for a reasonable price. I have it in my car, and it's a nice bit of kit.

Thanks Dan,

I checked out the website, they have a "Bigger Spearco Replica" that looks really good, except it requires relocation of the stock oil cooler. There are 2 other spearco replica IC's as well. I did not see a kit though that contains an IC and piping. Did you just grab the 2.5 IC piping kit?

they come with some elbows so that you can hook it up to your existing piping IIRC.

if your in edmonton we can make something up for you in my garage.

I got the 2.5" in/out Sperco replica, it fits with the stock oil cooler in it's normal location, but barely. I did just get the 2.5" IC kit, and a couple of the 2.5" cast aluminum elbows.

Sounds Great, I think the spearco replica is the best bang for the buck. Did you notice any performance gains after the install of the IC / Kit? Or did you do more than the one mod? What are the chances you've got any pics of the kit installed?

Heh. I installed a Turbonetics 60 trim turbocharger at the same time, so there's no way for me to isolate the intercooler as a performance mod.

Also, my IC piping is awful. The generic kit works, but it's not pretty.
