well it finaly happend i just bought my first supra today :D, its a 1983 blue supra GTS, its a 5m-ge with a 5spd tranny, (thats right mike you know what im thinking) it has 380 XXX KM on it, it runs with a exhaust leak, so now its time for the decistion prosses. i bought the car for $321.00, it has next to no rust on it, the passanger rear rocker has a bit of rust, and some bubbling on the driver side a frame, other than that, the exteror is great. the interior is amazing, digital dash and all that jazz, the engine is ok, sounds a little rough but revs well and doesnt bog down. now that thats done, should i do a 5spd swap on the cressida (everything bolts up except the drive shaft which has to be lengthend) or should i swap the engine from my cress (which runs VERY well) in to the supra. i cant make up my mind and thought you guys could give me a bit on incite.
thx for your help :D

well if there is visible signs of rust it may already be too late for the supra, they tend to rust from the inside out, by the time you see it its pretty set in.
for $321 its a hell of a deal either way though. a 5-speed cressida would rock though:)

ok so i've been doing some looking around and i've seen that there have been MX73 cressidas in canada that were 5spd's, mx73someday on the 780tuners board has a 87 5spd, and on thermreactor there is a few people from canada with 5spd's, so should i save the downtime and money of a driveshaft mod or go and try to find a 5spd shaft.
also if i cant find the right shaft, how much does it cost to lenthen a driveshaft, and who do i see to do this?

Hi Malaria!
It would be cheaper or same cost to have a driveshaft made for the car, and I'm willing to bet that EC Machining, one of our sponsors could do it for a decent price, and that would snag you a discount too. I know a few guys that have had them custom made. Something worth looking into anyhow!
Cheers,
Tim
