hey guys
im getting my 86.5 7mge engine tested for a bhg
if it is indeed a bhg i want to get a 7mgte
anyone know where in edmonton i can get one or any shops u can recommend ?

Troll around on Supraforums and supramania for a while and you'll find one, but keep in mind everything else you'll have to change over. You could also fix the hg and go NA/T. There have been a lot of good engines built this way.

I am not sure about where to get one but they are not hard to find. Once you have one I recommend taking it to EC for the rebuild.

Some choose to import a JDM motor & tranny but you will need a ECU & harness. Try talking to Trowa he imported on last year. You can also keep an eye open for a cheap turbo car & get the motor from there.

I have a GTE block & head from my swap but none of the turbo stuff. Good luck & I'll post up if I find one for ya.

so i called a couple shops today
at extreme velocity i was quoted 1600$ for a 7mgte with 100k
and 3000$ with everything installed
the guy also said he did this swap on his own 87

he then said 2400$ for a 1jzgte but sugggested the 7m would be better

i called toytech they said 9000 for a jdm engine
and 12000 for everything installed so that is definately out of the question

anybody heard anything about xtreme velocity
im also getting a friend to ask hanson from petuning about importing an engine

any thoughts? about anything?

All of them sound expensive. I know nothing about a shops but buy a 7mgte & we can help install it if you have all the parts. I am going to get Trowa to post up his numbers. Try Calgary shops they seem to be cheeaper

JDM Source in Calgary sells for about 900 I believe.

A friend of mine picked up one from them.Best if you pull the valve covers to inspect it before you buy.Problem with the JDM ones is the harness is cut
