Well it finally happened to me. My supra was broken into last night and the stereo was stolen along with about 8 cd's. The good thing is that the passenger door didn't lock proper yesterday so it was unlocked. There is no damange at all to the car and thats all they took besides the 65 cents in change that was in the tray. They even left the amp and the sub that was in the back as plain as day. The funny thing was, the deck is just a cheap Koss cd player worth about 100 bucks so it wasnt to big a deal to loose and the fact that they didn't break the window or damage the car in anyway is a relief. They even unplugged it from the connectors i installed into the factory wiring so they didn't even hurt the wiring harness.LOL As pissed as i am, it could have been worse for sure. I've been parking my work truck outside for the past few weeks and there is alot more stuff to steal in there so im glad it put it in the garage last night. The only bad part really is that im broke so its going to take a few weeks to replace. I would like to take a look at the deck your selling mike but don't wait for me to sell it.

Thats great news.
I had the same thing happen. Passanger door did not lock and they trashed my console trying to get a $79 deck out and totaly missed $200 in tools and other goodies. Minimal damage to the car.
Time to upgrade the head unit eh?

i've had it twice, each time i say screw it and just drive around stereoless for 7 months or so.
or this last time was only 2-3 till now, only due to a long highway trip right away.
i now leave absolutely nothing in the car that i don't mind loosing.

Ya i hear ya
Well i can t go without a deck so thats not an option but i will be looking into an alarm asap and fixing the door lock right away or at least makeing sure its locked for sure at night. Then again leaving the door unlocked cost me alot less damage(or as in this case no damage) this time around. I guess i just have to be a little more prepared like removing the faceplate off the deck and making sure the back cover is in place. I'm pretty sure tho that if the door was locked they probably would have just left it alone. Don't want to find out again tho hehe. Getting a bigger dog and tying it to the rear bumper until the alarm comes LOL.

Sorry to hear about your deck and cd's, i'm glad to hear the car is fine tho. I had my '85 celica broken into a couple years back. I guess they were happy enough with my deck because they left 48 cd's and all my tools. Go figure. ...the bastards.

I'm sorry to hear that Marc, but lucky that there was no damage. At least they are a courteous crook (disconnected connectors, etc.). I've noticed that my pass. door doesn't lock all the time either, except when I use my remote. I'm wondering if this is a regular problem for the cars or just has to do with age and/or malfunctioning parts. I know a few people that don't ever lock there doors and have no problems, but I think it's different with cars like ours.

I had my mk2 broken into at west ed a couple years ago...they smashed the drivers window and wrecked up the interior trying to get my equipment out...car repair alone was $1500 and they stole my clarion deck, pioneer speakers, MTX competiton amp, and phoenix gold sub in a custom enclosed box. The insurance company even threatened to write off my car because stereo replacement and repairs totaled so much. All around bad news. I'm glad to hear your car wasn't damaged.
