Knock knock

My N/A mkiii Supra has a slight knock between 2200-3000 rpm but it doesn't get progressively worse as rpm increases. I added a oil additive a while ago and the knock disappeared. Tried it again this time but with no luck. Any thoughts?

Ouch. Sounds like rod knock. Oil additives in this case are like a bandaid on a gunshot wound. Not much help...

Good time to look into a 7M-GTE or 1JZ-GTE swap...

Not if your oil pressure comes up higher after that point. Root cause could then be a weak oil pump. Something that's been known to happen to 7Ms.

How does your oil pressure look at idle, and at 2500 RPM. (TSRM spec says 2.5kg/cm^2 minimum at 2500RPM.)

It's telling you it wants a 7M-GTE.

Right now I get 2.5 kg at 1300 rpm.

It doesn't get worse.. at first.

My advice start planning for a rebuild, thats what I have to do.
