Hi guys.
You all remember me. The guy with the 7M car. The heinous one that blows a shitload of smoke and death. You know, the one with the crank pulley that wobbles like a motherfucker all over the place.
Yeah, about that.
I've got a new one sitting in the trunk of my Civic. Woe is me, hey? Anyways, I figure since it's pretty nice out this week (or at least tomorrow), I wouldn't mind pulling that crank pulley off and seeing just how fucked my crank is. If it's not...you know, I really wouldn't mind putting the new pulley on, either, so that when I have to drive it around, I'm not afraid the crank is going to fall into the oilpan.
And uh... you know. I've got this other car. That the engine should probably go into. But first, a certain 7M-GE needs to come out of it. I'm looking for some help with that, too, if anyone's got some time.
I should probably just revive my build thread.
You thinking sometime this week? lmk

Sometime this week, yeah.
Like, you know, tomorrow, while it's still not snowing.
Really, I'm not picky. If anyone happens to have a garage we can use, though, that'd be super.
...no, Rob, I won't leave my car in it for a month.
I've got extra space in my garage. You'll need to bring jack stands (if needed) and a 250lbs torque wrench because mine only goes up to 150lbs.

That would be phenomenally fantastic, my good Irish friend. I'm sure I can find some jackstands (since they're generally cheap-ish) but the torque wrench might be a problem. I don't even own one, let alone a 250ft-lb wrench.
Must poke around!
:toast::toast::toast: "My good DRUNK Irish friend!" LOL. You bet. :-)

I'll bring the beer if someone else brings the torque wrench. I mean, we're not going to need it to get the crank pulley off -- as far as I know, the bolt's loose anyways. Need to inspect the crank either way. That's job number one.
I do need to pick up a new key for it while I'm at it.
Ok, that means pulling the subframe or the whole engine. Let's chat tomorrow when I'm sober. :-))) Unless you mean visually inspecting the front of the crank for wobbling while turning the engine over?

Crank pulley just needs to come off, and the front of the crank needs to be inspected for warpage and violent destruction.
I'll call you tomorrow.

I can help, but not today. Wed or some other day this week works. It would be better for me if you're going to be doing it at Jim's house too, since you live way the hell down south or something don't you?

Consider me texted.
Need to pick up that key for the pulley. Fingers crossed for Toyota.
Any day this week is fine. I'm looking forward to rigging up a ghetto dial gauge to measure crank wobble! Or, fingers crossed, the lack thereof.

Bwahah.
Picking the key up tomorrow - could either start taking it apart tonight to survey the damage and wait until then to throw it back on, or do it another day. I'm not sure how my Wednesday evening is!

I have a brand new 250 ftlbs wrench your welcome to use, I bought it for my motor swap but the first one was bad, and I used my buddies. So your welcome to it for the weekend. I should mention I got the bad one replaced ond this one is still in the package.

I'm busy pretty much every night this week except for Wednesday. If you are doing it then, I'll be there! And if it's at Jim's I can oggle his engine stuff! :)

Jim, Andrew -- how are you guys for Thursday evening? Don and I seem to agree that would work best. Either at Don's place in Airdrie (I can leave the car there for a few days if I have to) or at Jim's downtown-ish, either or.

That'll work.
I can't do thursday evening, sorry. I can do wednesday, saturday, sunday.... but not thurs.
You can leave it in my garage for a couple days no sweat. If you want to get crackin on thurs, Don's your best bet.

Werd, assuming that the city of airdrie stops being retarded and actually sweeps the fucking streets today.
I'm currently playing musical cars, trying to do something with two SUV's, a full size truck, and my supra, with a garage full of building materials and tools, and one parking spot that's a big mud pit because a contractor decided he wanted our gravel from the parking pad.
So yeah, I'm in for some 7M fun
