Hello all,
I am new to supraclub.ca but not to Supras. I have just purchased my third (technically fourth) Supra a White 1986.5. This is my First MKIII I have run all MKII's before. I have been in the Toronto Supra Club for almost 9yrs I believe. I moved to Calgary about 6 months and have been trolling for cars since I got here. This one is a fixer upper, it main mod is Rod Knock lol. Hopefully the motor is not to bad and my roommate (Who has also owned many Supra's) and I will get her on the road in short order. Worst case I was going to ship a motor out from TO for cheap from Tiger.
Anyway I am very excited to own a supra again and hope be out driving soon. How often does the club meet? are there seperate meets for Calgary and Edmonton?
I'll post some pics soon. I get the car towed to my place tomorrow, I want to shine her up a bit before I post becuase the for sales pics were a bit rough compared to the car in person.
w00t Supra!
hee hee

Welcome Carl. I bought my wheels from George in the Toronto Supra Club. We meet basically whenever anyone feels like putting something together, at least once a month in the summer. Some of us can be found at the friday night street drags at race city regularly.
There are separate meets but there is typically people from the 'other' city in attendance too. I used to make it up to Edmoncton whenever I could, when the supra ran. There have been efforts to bridge the gap and make one meet in between with minimal success, aside from suprafest.
You just missed a Calgary luncheon at BP's. Next one is annoyingrob's bbq at the end of the month. Cheers

Geroge is a great guy, we used to have matching Black 84's before the cancer took mine. I have also gotten to ride in his White MKIII about 2 years ago before the motors last explosion.
Did you get the crazy 17" rims the dragon in the center cap? those things were great! All the MKII guys were jealous!
I look forward to meeting some good Supra folk. We always had fun at the club in T.O. The president of the Toronto club also has offices in Calgary and comes down once in a while, he was thinking about maybe getting some fo the T.O. club to come down this summer and go for cruise through the mountain roads. I hope to make it back to T.O. for the big annual meet this August.
Anyways really excited about car season again. Maybe see you at the track, I am always on the lookout for Supra drivers :)

Hmmm... Not much point in dumping good oil into that, now is there? Looks like that's an NA. I think that a GTE swap is called for...

You are the only other Carl I have run into with a Supra before (don't run into that many Carl's period).

Looks like you have a nice clean shell! Congrats. Very litte cancer in the photos at least.
Best of luck with the motor though. Sounds like you know what you are doing.

Thanks BigTree,
Yeah I have had some experiance with 5,6,&7M motors. My first MKII had a BHG and I had to replace. My best friend and room mate Kingsoup had an 88 Turbo and we pulled his motor and rebuilt it 4 times I think due to BHG and rod knock. I have helped a few others with BHG etc. in the past as well. Not overly fun work, but the end result is usually worth the effort :)

Looks to be in good shape. The exterior that is. Maybe that oil pan mod is to help allow venting to reduce crankcase pressure (in a major way).
I wanna sunroof, good luck, I know.

Targa would be cool, no doubt. But on the otherhand 86.5 is the lightest year correct? Hardtop lighter and go faster hee hee, important when your not boosted ;)

Well, on the upside, when you pull the 7M-GE out of it, it'll be down to race weight...
