Hello Everyone.

Ever since about 1995 or so, I've always wanted to own a Supra, ever
since I rode in a classmates MKII. However, cost was always a barrier.
Especially, considering at the time that the MK4's were sitting around $70k.
(And some still are. :( )

A co-worker of mine who owns a 1990 MKIII Supra got me hooked again.

Back in July, I took the plunge, since I could afford a MK3. (Not a MK4
sadly enough.) I'm the proud owner of a 1991 MK3 RHD Supra TTR. 2.5
Litre I6 Twin Turbo, completely stock except for Blitz cat-back exhaust,
turbo timer and a JVC stereo.

It's got about 118k's on the clock, no rust but it needs a little bit of TLC.

Plans for it will be:

1. Fix "Time Worn" mechanical stuff
2. Reupholster interior
3. Repaint exterior (?)
4. Rebuild turbos or replace twin CT12A's with twin aftermarket turbos
5. Add Boost controller, larger downpipe and other stuff
6. Coilovers? (Maybe?)
7. New Rims :)
8. Add Westach pillar gauges

Planning on keeping the exterior and interior mostly stock, going more for a
restoration more than anything else. Probably going to do mild powertrain
mods later on. 400 HP to the wheels I think would be a good aim. :)

In case anyone is curious, I bought a RHD because I'm left handed. I've
always had a problem doing 2-3 or 4-5 shifts with LHD cars and for me,
driving this car comes naturally! (Except for whenever I turn on my wipers
accidentally whenever I want to turn on the left hand turn signal!)

Pics of the said vehicle are attached. I know there's someone else in
Calgary who must live around the Country Hills/Coventry Hills area who
also has a Supra that looks just like mine, because I've seen yours!

Anyway, glad to see that these forums exist! I'm looking forward to going
to the meets and doing some fun runs.

RHD is teh gay, but if it's more comfortable for you, then bonus.

Not a bad lookin car, even tho it probably weighs as much as my DD :)

Hey, I like the JZA70. Fastest, most fun car I've ever driven was a JZA70 running on stock twins.

It was hot. I like your car.

Y-pipe, then cams. Best two mods you can do to the stock 1JZ, period.

I would buy the MK4 if you could really afford it. But if not I would drive this MK3 with out modifying it and get a LHD to start fixing up then swap in the 1JZ in a weekend.
No down time, Awesome car, and it's not RHD!

Whats wrong with RHD?

Nothing is wrong with RHD it's just not as easy to drive on our roads.

Personally, I like those rims. I also really like the colour. :)

RHD is fine, but for some people it's a pain. It isn't so good for a daily driver, because it's difficult to make safe left hand turns. Also some people have difficulty adapting to the gearshift being at the left hand. (For a manual, anyway.)

still safe to make left hand turns, just have to adjust your driving habits a bit. same as any other car with blind spots. I have driven RHD's and didn't find it any more difficult really, not the shifting, left turns, etc. just adjusted how i drove.

no good ever comes from LHD vs RHD discussions. I think we should just drop it before it gets out of hand.

Well then it's a natural fit! Lovely car... I looked for over a year for mine, and four years after buying it I'm still very happy. :-)

See you at the meets!
