Sunday, December 9th

Big T's BBQ and Smokehouse
2138 Crowchild Trail NW (23rd Avenue and Crowchild Trail)
Calgary, AB
As the holiday season rolls around, we're left once again to ponder and contemplate all the things we have to be thankful for, we come to a realization:
We drive sports cars and we live in the most godawful, cold, miserable, unpredictable, dreary city in the world, and we're fast approaching the most unpleasant season of the year.
So, with that out of the way, I propose that as a function of the Calgary chapter of the Alberta Supra Owner's Assorted Winter Automobile Club, we have a meet sometime in December to get together and share our holiday cheer. (Or cynicism, more likely.) We could do this in a number of ways. We could have a nice, non-denominational holiday lunch or dinner, we could have a massive barbeque (turkey, anyone?) or we could go for a nice (probably snowy) cruise in our probably non-Supras. Or any combination of things therein!
Basically, I'm shootin' for dates and schedules right now, if anyone wants to get together down here. In the giving holiday spirit, we could do a big swap meet for parts and stuff, or stick to the usual. By all means, throw me some lines, tell me what you guys are interested in doing and what your schedule is like for the second half of December.
Let's try to make this one big! Winter meets are a lot of fun.

I will bring 4WD toyota built awesome. That is all I can promise... I'll be around probably up untill the 22nd, then I'll be in BC until january.
I'm in town until the 17th of December. Any time before then is good... except for the odd days when I actually work. They are, however, few and far between.

Although I agree with the unpredictability of Calgary's weather, I resent the rest of what you said.
I don't really care when it is, any Sunday is good for me. Just as long as it doesn't happen to fall on the same date as the, yet to be announced, Edmonton xmass party. I'd really like to make it to that this year.

HA, Edmonton isn't the worst either, but Calgary isn'y the worst in any of those in this province. My vote would go to Fort Mac.

This will not fall on the same Sunday as the Edmonton party. I will be at that one as well. Any dates for that yet?

I like how you think Jeff

Heh. Fort Mac sucks, but I will never forget being stuck in High Level

So, my thinking is that whichever date (9th or 16th) the Edmonton club meet is on, we'll pick the other Sunday for the Calgary meet. Currently, it looks like everyone's pushing for the 9th for that one, so that would make the tentative date for the Calgary lunch/dinner thing Sunday, December 16th.
Let me know how this works for you guys.

Food. Yum.
I vote for the 16th for us, and the 9th for those crazy edmontonians. See you kids there.

Big T's motion thirded. Unless anyone has any objections (vegans?) then I think it'll be a Very Supra Texan Barbeque.

I don't eat red meat.
Ever heard of barbequed chicken?
I thought you knew me better than that. I was joking. ;)

So I take it, with the Edmonton meet going down on the 9th, this one will be on the 16th?
azrael

Actually, it looks like the Edmonton meet is going down on the 16th, so this will be on the ninth. That leaves me just a week to prepare! Let's start getting a list going!

Welp... Is that time of year again.
Some of you may remember from previous years that I organized a dinner party at the Moosefactory restaraunt.
I'm thinking the same thing again this year, although I would like to do it on a Sunday.
I think it would allow more attendees, and they have a phenominal dinner buffet on Sundays for around $21/per person.
This buffet is in addition to the regular menu, and is quite fattenin.... I mean filling :)
I has made a reservation for December 16th, at 6:30 pm for 15 people, although it don't look like we will get that many.
yup, 16th for Edmonton, Jeremy needs to read more, lol.

I was, uuhhh, just trying to make sure everyone was paying attention. :)
Edit: It seams that I wrote 16th on the front page so I don't know what I was thinking....

What? Big T's? I'm a hardcore vegetarian man!
Cows eat grass, which is sort of a vegitable... then I eat the cow, thus I eat the vegetables! Therefore, cow=vegetable.
Perfect.
I'm in for Big T's!

Ok, so we have a day, and a place, but what TIME?
Jeff Lange
12-04-2007, 08:42 PM
6:00pm?
Six pm sounds good - we'd best make a reservation, methinks. That's prime eating time at most restaurants.
My attempt at a count has us at eight or nine people - maybe we should go by the example of the Edmontonians and start a poll?
azrael
12-04-2007, 11:10 PM
Jeremy should edit this topic to include a poll as to how many people are coming.
Man, I should've just volunteered to accept responsibility. =P
If we get a poll going, I'll call on Thursday and see if we can get a reservation for the number of people who've responded yes.
Supra_devil
12-05-2007, 12:29 AM
note, as thread starter you could have added the poll as well Keegan.

Reservation, if possible, will be made tomorrow! Unless the poll results go over ten, that's as many as I'll be making it for, so if you know anyone who said they were coming, make sure they've responded to it!
Thanks.
