This is what I know.
If you want to learn to paint a car then do it youself...take the time to do it right. If not pay someone to do it right for ya..
I know of people who will teach you how to do all you body prep then spray the car for ya. You have to be willing to do the work

prep is easy.... incredibly time consuming if you dont know what your doing, but easy.
painting, just pay someone to do it.
generally its not something you can pick up right away, and good automotive paint isnt cheap.
i know of a guy who quoted $1000 to fix my rust and paint my car... i think i know where im going for paint ;)
nait also may offer painting, i know they used to have this deal where the students prepped and painted your car for marks, you paid for materials.
very good paintjob for next to nothing.
you could always take an autobody course, i think they advertise it in the "class" magazine.

He do this at the muffler shop? Nice paint. He do deals for clubbers? I might have some stuff to do later. Just quick fix stuff so the car/truck don't look so bad in day light.
Sentara,
Let us know about the NAIT thing, if there is a wait. I was told that it takes forever to get anything done there because everybody wants cheap body work.
Also you could try a shop called DESRO's . It is a rental bay deal and they have a paint booth. Lots of guys will freelance from there for easy cash and if you want to do all the labour, wetsand between coats etc, you can get your car sprayed really cheap.
If I remember there is allot more to good paint that good spraying, but without that you are hooped 4 sure.
