Sad but true, just as I post pictures up of my car, I am contemplating selling it to start fresh with a clean slate.
Given the cost of shipping it, getting it's OOP inspection, and repairing any issues (electrical and minor rust), it would outweigh the cost of a mint MKII.

But I'll leave the sorrow for another time, here are the pics, I hope you enjoy them.

From when I first acquired the car.

After it's paint job (very bad one at that)

A year after the paint job, I decided to buy a rotary buffer. I wetsanded and polished that thing for 4 days (about 6 hours each day), thus giving it a shine that I have never seen so deep before in my life.

Final thing to add. On Saturday, you will get to see it for a month straight if you purchased a 2007 calender from cs.com.

Thanks for looking.

I like the last pic. Any good story there?

No story actually.

I had the most recent pictures shot by a friend of mine who's good with a camera. He needed an area where there was graffiti, I needed pictures done.

It's actually beside the Federal government building, and across the street from a no closed bar.

Now that I've noticed, are you talking about me being pulled over?

Yeah, I was talking about the one with the cruiser behind you. I guess those other picture links were broken until today.

Yeah, that could have been a $3000 night and an impounded car.
Because I had no MVI, my insurance wouldn't cover me, automatic $1000 fine, even though I had a policy.
$600-$1000 for reckless and imprudent driving.
Towing and impound fee's because I didn't have an MVI, voiding my insurance temporarily ($$$)
MVI $130 (Only needed an exhaust to pass)
6pts (loss of license for 6 months)

My buddy's were at his shop on the corner of an empty street (4 lanes, and ample room on both sides for double parking).
Little did I know, the street I was turning off from wasn't so empty.

The officer (who was right behind me) watched me pull through the corner, and once gaining the attention of my buddy's, witnessed me fishtail through two gears and head down the road (not even breaking the speed limit).

He caught up to me and knowing I was busted, hoping for mercy, I pulled over before he had the lights on.

He asked me why I would do someting so stupid, and I told him I was showing off for my buddy's (Who meanwhile had turned into a parking lot across the street for a photo op.). He came back and outlined everything I had done wrong, how much they were all worth, points and suspension.
Before he gave me my punishment, he said I could drive the car for the rest of the night (meaning he wouldn't impound it, and if I were pulled over again, show them the ticket), but he better not see it on the road until it had it's MVI.

I was expecting to have the book thrown at me, then he said, "But since you were honest with me, I'll leave it at a fine for your MVI. Gas and tires are expensive, I suggest you keep what you can".
It was too long ago to remember what I said, but I got of extremly lucky at $130 and no points.

Since then, I have not driven recklessly or recieved a ticket of any kind. Needless to say, I've learned my lesson.

Kinda...

while all the mk3 owners are busy fixing their broken land yachts, more mk2 owners have time to post pictures and other OT posts on forums because their cars aren't broken.
