My Supra has been making a rubbing/grinding noise under the armrest when I let the clutch out in 1st. And it also does it sometimes while im driving around 40kmh. Now obviously it has something to do with the transmission but I was wondering if anyone had an idea on what it could be or had a similar problem.
Also I was wondering if anyone knows a Mechanic that certified to do an Out of Province Inspection. My car is from Sask and its not registered here I got pulled over by the Police yesterday and was given 1 week to register my car or he'll charge me with driving an unregistered vehicle.
I took my car to get inspected it didn't pass I have a sheet that shows what needs to be done. To me its definitely roadworthy it just needs minor stuff. I need this car passed and im willing to pay a fair price to do it so anyone that is willing to pass it please pm me

Hello Ryan,
So why did the car not pass the last inspection? That may have to do with the sound you have..I may be that the rubber vibration mount has worn out or come loose from the end of your transmission.
Tell us if your car is a N/A etc...List what they say about not passing inspection...we can fix most of that within the club. Is it still your tailights? CanuckDave has spare parts that may fix this. And his prices are good.
As for a mechanic thgat is willing to put his license/career on the line for your car...I know of none that sees cash that important.

What you need to pass inspection:
Fender & light
Shocks (tems no tems?)
Rotors (front back all?)
Exhaust (from where? Is it just a hole?)
Lic plate light (I can give you one if you are sure it is just not a bulb)
PS lid? How do you loose that? Pick a part from any same year(s) car....2$?

well here is the list and right now i am really tight on money so here goes
Driver side fender and light
Rear shocks (Easy to do we can do it when you have time)
Rotors (warped or just gone, Darren at Brake Check can machine them for $9.00 per rotor)
Exhaust (holes, or rotted throught)
I need my A/C and Heater hooked up (A/C) Should just be a belt, heater may be the blower motor or heater core)
one working license plate light (easy to fix)
power steering fluid lid (how did this one go missing, many wreckers have one, any MKIII lid will fit)
head light washers need to work (these will only work when the headlights are up. Perhaps your motor is fried, or hoses are plugged. Again and easy fix)
and my power steering pump leaks a bit (with a lid missing, I imagine it would. ha ha ha May need to replace some hoses, or get new clamps and tighten them.)
and then theres some small minor things
please get back at me asap
Hi suprastar,
These are all very easy to fix.
I have put the rest of my reply in your original message. Please See above.
Reply here or send me a PM and we can start to get this thing road worthy. Best we get all the parts in one shot, that way we can spend a day fixing it up. I have many of tools in my garage to get this done.

You should do well for $600. PM CanuckDave about the front fender as he is parting out a car for cheap. Does it have to be done this week or can this be done on the weekend?

Hi Ryan,
$600.00 should be more than enought to get the job done. The rear shocks will cost $75.00 a peice for the KYB GR2's. I reccomend these as they are about 10% Stiffer than the factory. I am currently running these in the rear of my Supra. So including GST it will be about $150.00 for the struts. To machine the rotots you are looking at about $9.00 per rotor from Darren at Brake check, but he needs a few hours to do it. I normally drop them off in the morning and pick them up just before close.
As for the AC belt (assuming that is what you need) you are looking about approx $15.00 for a good year gatorback from AutoRola. Best belts I have ever used. If you need a heatercore, we can find one pre-owned. I believe the supra at Matts still has one that we can pull if need be. Roumor has it that pick your part has a MKIII Supra there. We will check the washer hoses for your pump and connections.
Thurs night would work out best for me as I am off at 6:30 pm. We can take a look and diagnose most stuff and fix some of the easy stuff. The struts we need about 2 or 3 hrs max to do them and a spring compressor.. I am off to Winnipeg from the 9th of July to the 18th so I will not be able to assist then. How soon did you need this done?
We should do the struts and rotors at the same time as it will reduce the work load and we only need to remoce the wheels once. =)

well I just realized that this is a mkIII, so if you want to just replace some stuff for cheap to get it to pass inspection, I can help you out, since I'm trying to part out my car right now anyway. I'd be happy to sell you the rear struts, shocks and brakes for $50. same for fronts if you want them too. easy to replace too, I can just take the whole assembly off mine, and you can bolt them in yours, you'd just need to get an alignment done after.

Hey Guys,
So some of the diagnosing is going down tonight at my place at 8:00 pm. I am not sure if Ryan has the struts and brakes from Dave (or new) yet nor not. We will be going through the list and hitting things off.
Send me a PM if you want to drop by.
Cheers,
Mike Nikolai
