Hi Everyone,
This is a question for my Supra specifically and for Toyota's with sunroofs in general.
Is the Roof Control unit (the relay switch) part # 85921-14010 or 166000-2151 the same in all Toyota's? Reason I ask is that my sunroof will open normally but it will not close. When I press the close button I get a clicking noise. I have isolated a clicking noise to Roof Control unit. The roof will make a brief attempt to close for a fraction of a second if I shake the unit while pressing the button to close it.
If they are the same I would like to just go to a wrecking yard and pull a unit out of another Toyota.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Mike,
I am going to guess that they will be the same for that time line. The sunroof being an option would have one supplier for the relay for the model year for many Toyota cars.
Can you call Sun Toyota and ask them to cross reference the part number to car models? I think that would be the surest way of confirming this information.
I hope it is easy to find because $299 US is a bit high for a relay.

Well I went to car bashers to day and yanked a motor and relay off a 1989 Camry I think. I was hoping it would just plug in, but that was not the case as the wires that lead to the relay have a little bit different set up on the plugs. There are currently 7 wires that go into the relay switch on my sunroof and the Camry one has 8. The Camry relay switch and motor were at the front of the car instead of at the rear like mine. I had pulled my motor out, and same thing, it would run when the switch was set to open, and would not work when set to close. So this helped me determine that my relay is hooped. I am going to get an electircal diagram of a 1989 Camry sunroof control relay and figure out what I can splice to where. I have not been successfull at locating a relay off a 1991 car. I will check with Black Gold, and Honday Toy on Monday if they are open. At leas I can now close my sunroof with the motor out! ha ha ha!

Alright everyone,
For those whom are following my sunroof saga here is an update. I was able to determine that the relay unit was done. I was able to switch the direction of current flow to the sunroof motor and the motor worked the way it was supposed to. I had a buddy of mine test my old circuit board and discovered that one of my relay boxes was toast. He transfered over the ones from the Camry circuit board as per my request. The ones on the Camry circuit board were tested and passed. I am now awaiting to put power to my car to test if this has cured my blues not. I can not test it unitll I get my issue with the S AFCII resolved.
