Product: 3M 1/2" Double-sided tape
Place Purchased: UAP/NAPA parts
Price Paid: $22 ($1 per foot)
Application: Trim and body kit parts, cats, dogs, anything really
Highlights:Sticks like a beast, package keeps tape safe from contamination, fits the MKIII trim very well
Caveats: You have exactly ONE chance to put the part where you want it to be, after that the tape throws on its kung-fu grip and does not let go.
Additional Comments: I love this product, and the 1/2" is perfect for applying MKIII trim. You could use 1/4", but the extra sticking power of 1/2" makes it worthwhile. This stuff sticks ridiculously welll. I applied rubbing alcohol to the trim and the body, and then put the tape on the trim. I waited for it to settle (not sure if this is necessary) and then unpeeled the red protective strip and applied the trim to the car. I wanted to readjust some of my trim a bit right after applying it, but after this stuff goes on, that's it, it's stuck. I took my car out on the highway right after putting the trim back on and it didn't move a millimeter. The results are beautiful. I am confidant that if we wrapped one of you guys in this stuff, you could stick to the side of my car well I drive down the freeway. If your trim is falling off, get this stuff! Period.
