View Full Version : Poll: What do you want to do for our next meet(s)?

Hey guys!

It seems like we are starting to get a good idea of what we want to do for our next meet, and given that this is more or less a democratic club, I figured you could just express your opinon in a simple poll format, and then the group can decide what to do from there. Each of the ideas has the potential for one (and/or more) BBQs if necessary (and you know it's necessary). Feel free to put out any other ideas.

For the record, I think we should go to DTP on July 9, maybe have a BBQ after, and then go to the track on July 22nd, where I am sure we can fit in more BBQ in if need be.

Cheers,

Tim

I have not voted on this poll yet but I will say the DTP is a must do. Scott just fitted his body kit and hopes to make a good showing at this event and I feel we should support his efforts. The club needs to show at this type of events to help with awareness. The more people who know us, the better it is.

As for the Track day I will come any day you guys want. My car may or may not make it due to it's tempermental nature. But I can still show for the event.

Thanks Tim for jumping in on this. I encourage all members to promote ideas that will help get us together and the cars seen.

Ahh hell...... I still have to suck the sides of the front in.
Im not off any of the meet days this week so I cant show people what it looks like. You (everybody except Earl, cause he saw it already) might have to wait till DTP to see it cause I work to much.

i'm going camping soon, i don't really know when as me and dates and times don't get along, so i may or may not be in attendance.

well I voted for "Go to DTP on July 9, and then go to the track on July 22" but now I'm not sure if I'll make DTP, cause myself, Barry and Glenn will probably be going down in a rental truck to calgary, to pick up my 6M-GTE setup and some other stuff.

DTP goes from 2pm until 10pm. If you pick up that stuff earlier on, you should be able to make it up with plenty of time.

Just a thought.

Tim

D'oh! I will be missing out on a good time. I did not know Scott was doing the body and showing off his Supra. Now I wish I was not leaving on the 9th! LOL, but plans have already been made.

Take lots of pictures guys!

I am really hoping to get the decals done before DTP to get a little more advertising going for us :!:
Im planning on doing my exhaust tomorrow... putting on the other 'thing' in the next few days and .... this ones a surprise. Only one person knows what I am doing. Keep your mouth shut Earl
HaHaHa.
If I had more time I'd think about throwing the turbo in also.

I am working on the decals also...???? did you need better art? I had my inhouse artist make a bit of a change to the logos to make the stickers work better. I'll post a new thead once I get my quote back from my printer.

As for your secret! I am like a gold fish in one ear and....look at the shiny thing! ooooohhhhhh!

Doh! So that is why I think we should put a sub in every prairie lake!

Hey guys!

I just wanted to remind you to please express your opinion on our next meet (by vote or otherwise) in the next little bit so that we can move onto specifics. I admit that I am encouraging us to decide soon partly out of selfish reasons, as I will be taking a job in the middle of nowhere (no internet) starting Saturday, and the next day I will be back in town will be on the day of DTP.

Speak your thoughts, and if you want to go to DTP, I encourage discussion of a meeting time and place!

Cheers,

Tim

well, assuming Dave, Glenn and I go to calgary, DTP will be difficult, but ill make a heros effort to show up.
and trackdays...well, i need doing some stuff to my car first, but the helmet and tarmac beckon to me :)

whatever you guys decide, ill try to make it happen, for the team...er, club.

When exactly are you going to Calgary? I imagine you could go early and make it back in time for the show. As I said earlier, the show doesn't start until 2pm and goes until 10pm, so I'm not sure how you couldn't make it back in time. I'd love to see you make it out to the show, it should be something cool alright!

Cheers,

Tim

well, assuming we pick up the rental on sat morning, we wouldnt be able to leave until 9ish
get there 11-12, find the guys house, do the deal on parts, then food and head home... theoretically, we could be back by 5 or 6.

almost anything is possible when im driving ;)

lol ya, i've learned that the fun way:)
i'll be going to calgary too if i'm not busy. this next week is screwed for me as i'm gone camping for 5 days. Yes, me and NO SUPRAS, for 5 Whole Days. HOW WILL I SURVIVE???
but i will try to make anything else, DTP, Drags, whatever.

Hmmm...

That really sucks that you have to use a rental. You could get the job done much faster if you could borrow someone's truck. I have a feeling it will take you longer than you suspect. I think you could be at DTP by 7-8, which is still plenty of time for checking out the best stuff at the show.

C'mon! Whose up for a midnight cruise?!

Think about it.

Cheers,

Tim

i could borrow someones truck, but what happens if i smoke a deer or something.
now ive smashed someones truck, they got no wheels, and its my fault.

if i smoke a deer in a rental i call the 1-800 roadside assistance number and grin all the way home cause i paid my $24/day insurance and im free of responsibility (unless i was doing something stupid/illegal)

itll probably take about as long as i forecasted unless theres a major hold up with the engine guy, ive done this trip a FEW ;) times, lol.
generally 2-2.5 hours there, how ever long in calgary, and 2.5 hours home.
unless i stick with a chrysler 300C doing about 160 :D

Supra_devil

LOL.

i slept most of that trip back. i would wake up, see the same car in front of us, then decide in my head that i had only just closed my eyes for a minute, then do it again. Next thing i know were hitting city lights.
