so, i carded someone tonite

went for a little drive, turned into a long drive.
cruising along, what do i see racing up behind me... it looks like a mk6 celica... oh, wait, no, it looks like a mkIV, and it is.

so, he tries to get me to have a little run, going down saskatchewan drive...hell no, i hate photo tickets.

we kind of follow each other through the city, ending up with me catching up to him on 111th ave, westbound from 156 st.
my passenger handed him a card and we talk a little.

he was claiming about 410 hp at the wheels, and judging by the small displays i got, id guess its pretty damn close.
very nice looking, bright red mkIV with a personalized plate which i wont repeat in an open forum (for his safety and security)

i think i saw this guy driving around the area also a couple of times, i had my supra but he though nothing of it, dam that thing is nice and now i know that hes putting out 410hp ...dam thats tight.

naaa, that was just arizona plates because it hadn't been transfered to alberta yet. or so i believe, i am wrong sometimes.

thats the same supra, from brewsters I was driving it that night, fishtailed out of parking lot, had arizona plates on it still, and yes now it has custom plates, ;)
right now its stock. 330hp
but it will be boosted higher that 410 hp, shortly(within the week)

Hi Jim,

I have had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Matrix Motorsport a few times. All of my dealings with them have been less than sub par. I found their knowledge of performance products to be almost non existant.

To give you an example I was told right out by some fellow named Mylan (I think that is how you spell it) that HKS DOES NOT MAKE A MHG for the 7M motor and that my info and sources for my info was wrong as it was not in his "HKS" Book. Needless to say I had no problem ordering one up from HKS from suprasport.

Their pricing is insane. They wanted to charge me $1300.00 Canadian for my APEX-I AVCR plus $300.00 to install it. I bought it from Suprasport for $485.00 USD, my clear signal lenses, shipped accross the border, duty, taxes, yatta, yatta all for about $900.00 CDN.

I for one would not trust them with my car, nor Mayfield Toyota.

My most recent experience was with a Toyota Premium batter that I bought from them 2 years ago. While it was stored inside, the battery lost its charge and would not recharge. Thinking no problem, I will just go to Mayfield grudgingly as I had bought the battery from them they will exchange it for free and it is all good. Nope, they wanted to charge me $20.00 for a test to see if the battery was charging, then consider replacing it under warranty. I had my bill everything needed. I argued the point that this should be done for free as it is under warranty. Point blank the service lady told me "I can not take your word for it and just replace the battery" Anyone can go to a Canadian Tire or Part Source and get their battery tested for free (I tested it there first before I brought it back). Leaving pissed off I went to see Ron and Marnie at Sun Toyota. With in 5 min they tested the battery, and replaced it no problem, no hassles, no battery test fee.

It has been made very apparant to me that Mayfield Toyota does not want my business even though I was willing to bring them huge amounts of cash and potential referrals.

I don't know why they would quote you 1300 for an AVC-R Mike. When I went there they told me 600, and I was about to buy it right there, had it in my hand, but I saved the money for tuition instead. That was with Lee. I always have a good time chatting to him, and he knows his stuff. Not sure if he works there anymore.
